‘You don’t have to be mad to work here, but it helps!….’

Sue Camilleri

Sue joined Jason Theatre School in January 1977 when she was employed as Miss Joy’s part time secretary. Over the year she took on more responsibilities eventually dealing with the majority of the school’s administration. Now semi-retired, she continues to play a part in the running of the school, mostly now dealing with the financial aspects. She is the back bone of our team and a very loyal, dedicated member of our family.

Belynda Bayford

As daughter to the Founder of Jason Theatre School – Belynda has been a part of Jason Theatre School since she was a little girl. Although she realised dancing was not for her, she loves being involved in the running of the school. Belynda is in charge of the Boutique and our Jason office is run from her home! She is the mother hen of our family and always there whenever we need her.

Joy Spriggs

A word from our Founder –

‘We began in 1951 with a small class for the Sunday school children at St.James church in Enfield Highway with private lessons in my mother’s front room in Lincoln Road. Since then Jason Theatre School has gone from strength to strength under the inspired leadership of Miss Tracey and Miss Lauren and the devoted staff, pupils and parents. Over the years tens of thousands of pupils have been successfully entered for examinations in dance, drama and singing and many former pupils have flourishing careers as performers, teachers and examiners. The Jason Kids appear in pantomime every year and every two years Let Us Entertain You is presented for your enjoyment. Styles may change in dance, music and fashion but the Jason tradition goes on and long may it continue. Good luck to you all. Love Miss Joy xxxxxxxx’
